Our geothermal hot spring nurtured by volcanic activity springs from 700 meters underground. Chloride Alkaline Spring (pH 8.5) which resembles seawater is abundant of metasilicic acid, a skin-nurturing composition that promotes skin metabolism. This is why our hot spring is known as“Bijin no Yu”(Hot spring of Beauty). Other health benefits incl. a relief of muscle or joint inflammation, better blood circulation leading to lowered blood pressure, etc.

Our History
On the site of the former residence of the high-class samurai of the Shimazu Clan Shimazu Orinosuke in the Edo Period, this stately building was constructed in 1946 and it's the city's oldest wooden public bathhouse to this day.
Known as "Kirishima-yu" (Hot spring of Kirishima) back in the Taisho era, our sento has a long history of offering both locals and tourists a place to soak in pure bliss and nature's beauty for relaxation and rejuvenation...

Walk straight up the Tenmonkan St followed by Ten Park St until you come to Sengoku Baba St / 24 at which point make a left turn and walk further up the road for approx. 600m. You'll find our onsen on your left-hand side (total journey 12 mins).

and get off at 'Takami Baba St' .
